This semester has been very insightful to my knowledge of astronomy. I had previously taken Astro 102 and 115, neither of them really covered galaxy formation and the evolution of the universe in much depth. I had some knowledge that overlapped. I developed an appreciation for just how large the universe is. I remember being amazed in the first few weeks of class when Professor Bell kept demonstrating scales of the universe, and then he made the comment, "The universe is incredibly empty." I was amazed.
I think the most interesting and surprising thing that I learned about what dark matter. I had never studied it or talked about it. I still don't think that I can adequately wrap my mind around the subject, and I would like to learn more about it in the future. Thank you for a great semester!
